摘要 PURPOSE: An optical IC(Integrated Circuit) device having a convex part, a method for fabricating the same, and an optical communication transceiver module fabricated by the same are provided to arrange easily the optical IC device and an optical fiber by improving a structure of the optical IC device. CONSTITUTION: An active layer(302) is formed on a center portion of an upper face of a p-type or an n-type InP semiconductor substrate(301). The first current shield layer(303) is formed on the upper face of the semiconductor substrate(301). The second current shield layer(304) is formed on an upper face of the first current shield layer(303). A clad layer(305) is formed on the second current shield layer(304) and the active layer(302). The first current shield layer(303), the second current shield layer(304), and the clad layer(305) have incline planes(306), respectively. A convex portion(310) is formed by the first current shield layer(303), the second current shield layer(304), and the clad layer(305). The convex portion(310) has a sidewall profile. The first electrode(307) is formed on the clad layer(305). The second electrode(308) is formed on an edge portion of the semiconductor substrate(301).
