INDEXABLE BALL NOSE END-MILL HAVING RECESS GRINDING INSERT

PURPOSE: An indexable ball nose end-mill is provided to improve the strength and endurance of a main grinding insert and to easily discharge chips by forming an uneven pattern on an inclination surface of an upper portion of the end-mill. CONSTITUTION: An indexable ball nose end-mill(10) includes grinding inserts and a holder(80) for fixedly supporting the grinding inserts. The holder(80) includes an elongated body(82) rotated about a center shaft of the indexable ball nose end-mill(10). A handle part(81) is formed at a rear portion of the elongated body(82). A semicircular end(83) is formed at a front end of the elongated body(82). The elongated body(82) is tapered from the handle part(81) to the semicircular end(83) thereof. A plurality of sites are formed adjacent to the semicircular end(83) so as to receive the grinding inserts. Grinding insert mounting surfaces are formed in the sites.
