PURPOSE: An apparatus for removing a frequency noise in an FM stereo mode is provided to mute a noise generated when switching a broadcasting frequency in the FM stereo mode of a radio broadcasting receiver or by an other frequency except for the broadcasting frequency. CONSTITUTION: A tuner unit(10) tunes a radio broadcasting signal. A demodulating and signal process unit(20) demodulates and processes the broadcasting signal tuned by the tuner unit(10) as an IF(Intermediate Frequency). An amplifying/output unit(30) amplifies the demodulated signal as a sound with a suitable level and outputs the amplified sound. A control unit(50) receives an FM broadcasting signal or an AM broadcasting signal and switches a stereo mode or a mono mode. A frequency noise mute unit(60) mutes a noise except for the band of the demodulated broadcasting frequency signal when the tuned radio broadcasting signal is an FM broadcasting signal and a stereo mode.
