CROSSLINKED RESIN PARTICLES, CROSSLINKED RESIN PARTICLE EMULSION FOR USE IN PRODUCING THE CROSSLINKED RESIN PARTICLES, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE CROSSLINKED RESIN PARTICLES

Crosslinked resin particles, characterized in that the powder consisting of the particles exhibit an average particle diameter of 0.01 to 0.30 mu m and a narrow particle diameter distribution and in that when 10 g of the powder and 20 g of an iron powder are charged into a 300 ml glass ball mill container holding therein three kinds of polyamide balls having diameters of 2 mm, 5 mm and 10 mm in an amounts of 5 g, 10g and 10 g, respectively, the ball mill container is rotated at a rotation speed of 100 rpm for 30 minutes to agitate and admix the resin powder and the iron powder, and thereafter, the resin powder is taken out and is observed by means of an electron microscope, 20 pieces of resin particles being arbitrarily selected are found to contain defective particles in an amount of 0 to 2 pieces; and a method for producing the crosslinked resin particles which comprises drying a crosslinked resin emulsion which has been prepared by polymerizing, in a dispersing medium having water as a primary component, an ethylenically unsaturated monomer mixture which contains 20 wt % or more of a monomer having two or more of ethylenically unsaturated groups and is slightly soluble in water. The crosslinked resin particles have a high degree of crosslinking and are excellent in mechanical strength, thermal resistance, solvent resistance and the like.
