The invention relates to a railway track with ballast bed, comprising a ballast bed (10), some transverse sleepers (12) laying on the ballast bed and some rails (14) laid on the ballast bed and some rails (14) mounted on the sleepers. The sleepers are disposed close to one another but without contact, leaving a gap therebetween, said sleepers (12) define transversely to the longitudinal direction of the railway track some water drainage channels (134) for lateral water drainage. The gaps (140) defined between the sleepers (12) may be covered, on the upper side, by some covering elements (142), or the sleepers (12) may partially overlap one over another, without contact. Thus, the bed of the track is kept waterless, the positioned stability of the track increases and at the same time the required maintenance as for example the filling work, and also the cleaning work and plant removal decrease, respectively are no longer necessary.
