The invention relates to an element and a method of panel interlocking for cardboard boxes, for assembling them. The panel interlocking element for cardboard boxes made of two panels (10 and 12) comprises a locking tab (14), hinged to the panel (10) along an inferior folding line (16) having a neck portion (20) confined by a pair of cutting lines (24 and 26) and a main portion (22) connected to the neck portion (20). The method of panel interlocking for cardboard boxes, using the claimed interlocking element, consists in folding the locking tab, towards the free edge of the adjacent panel, overlapping the two cardboard panels, so that the locking tab of the first panel protrudes in the aperture cut in the adjacent panel, bending of the locking tab in an overlapping relation to the second panel, so that the neck portion of the locking tab secure the material portion of the second panel and finally, secure the interlocking portions of the locking tab, on the retaining tabs and the locking tabs of the first panel.
