PURPOSE: A head drum assembly is provided to fix a lower drum on a deck chassis, and to form an incision part in a position facing with a lead line in which a magnetic recording tape is traveling within a predetermined range, so as to lighten the lower drum. CONSTITUTION: An upper drum, in which heads are fixed on an external side and a rotor transformer is fixed on a lower surface, is rolled and supported on a shaft to be rotatable by many bearings. A lower drum(30) is located on a lower part of the upper drum and the shaft is forcibly inserted in a center, wherein a lead line(32) is formed within a predetermined range of angles on a front external side and an incision part(100) is formed on the other external surface facing with the lead line within a predetermined range. And a motor located on an upper part of the upper drum rotates the upper drum centered on the shaft.
