PURPOSE: A system and method for steel material electronic commerce are provided to search a desired commodity for an ordering and transacting process by adopting a click search method and setting a checking item differently adapted to a characteristic according to commodity items for buying a steel material commodity. CONSTITUTION: An operator computer(10) manages only one's web site homepage, controls an input/output signal from a plurality of buyer interfaces(2) or a plurality of seller interfaces(4) being connected through an Internet network(6), and controls a general process of a steel material electronic commerce. A program storing unit(20) is controlled by the operator computer(10) and includes a search program(24) which is linked with an operation program(22) for generally controlling a steel material electronic commerce site and a data base server(30) for performing a search by responding to various requesting signals from a connected user and a processing price calculation program(26) for automatically calculating a processing price. A stored article database(34) classifies and stores contents of stored articles for a sale. An ordering information database(36) classifies and stores contents of a steel material order. A member database(38) stores history contents of members. A notification database(39) stores notification contents from the beginning of a transaction to a completion thereof.
