PURPOSE: A back door opening and closing apparatus of a vehicle is provided to overlap a back door in opening by installing a roller in the back door and by mounting a rail in a roof, and to improve quality by opening and closing the back door conveniently in the limited space. CONSTITUTION: An upper part of a back door(1) is combined with a vehicle body roof(2) by a hinge. A back door rail is mounted in the upper part of the roof to overlap the back door in the upper part of the roof in opening and closing the back door. A roller is inserted to the back door rail with sliding, and installed in the upper part of the back door. Fitting sills are formed in both sides of the back door rail, and bent inward to prevent displacement of the roller. The turning point of the back door is moved within the range of the length of the vehicle by modifying the turning point to the moving point in turning the back door around the hinge. The back door is slid in the roof, and overlapped with the roller and the back door rail in opening and closing the back door. The quality is improved with opening and closing the back door in the limited space.
