PURPOSE: A galvanometer is provided to improve operating linearity of the galvanometer by reducing a variation of torque. CONSTITUTION: A galvanometer is formed with a permanent magnet(12) for generating magnetic flux, a driving coil(16) for supplying current, and a steel core(14) used as a path of the magnetic flux generated by the permanent magnet(12) and the driving coil(16). A groove for winding the driving coil(16) is formed in the steel core(14). The steel cores(14) are arranged in a predetermined interval. The permanent magnet(12) is installed between the steel cores(14). The driving coil(16) is wound around the steel core(14). A torque is generated by the magnetic flux of the permanent magnet(12) and the current if the current is applied to the driving coil(16). The galvanometer is operated by the torque.
