PURPOSE: A shock-absorbing hood lock of a vehicle is provided to minimize the injury on a walker in a head-on collision by lifting down a hood and by absorbing the shock applied to the part of the walker. CONSTITUTION: A pair of brackets(10,11) are prepared on the inner face of a hood(1). A shock sensing lever(13) rotatably combined to a support member(12) via a pin are prepared between the brackets. A rotating lever(14) combined with the shock sensing lever is prepared on one of the brackets. A tension spring(15) is prepared between the rotating lever and the support member. A striker(16) is prepared on the other bracket. A support lever(17) is rotatably prepared on the front end of the striker. A latch fixed on a portion of a radiator support panel is formed on the front end of the striker. Both ends of a wire(19) wound on a guide wheel(18) are connected to the upper ends of the rotating lever and the support lever. When a part of the body of a walker collides against the hood, the striker is released by the shock sensing lever. Then, the hood is pressed down and a shock is damped. Therefore, the injury on the walker is minimized.
