A compact fuse (1) for car, comprising a fuse element (2) and an insulated housing (3) having cutouts (8), the fuse element further comprising a pair of platy substrates (4) and a fused part (5) for connecting the platy substrates to each other, wherein the fused part is stored in the housing, a part of the platy substrates are exposed to the outside of the housing, and the overall length of each of the platy substrates is the sum of the length (A) of the fused part along the longitudinal direction of the platy substrate, the dimension (B) of a recessed part (4c) along the longitudinal direction of the platy substrate, and the length (C) of a cover support part along the longitudinal direction of the platy substrate.
