The invention relates to a process meant for the correction and the alignment of a river bed and also for the protection of an outer bank of a curved river bed watercourse. According to the invention, the process is characterized in that a curved river bed watercourse is corrected and brought to the initial shape of a straight-lined river bed by means of one or several counterflow sills, established as a case may be, so that a main talus sill (A) be placed on the bed talus, at its base at the beginning of the curved bed, an auxiliary talus sill (B) is also used, placed on the talus at its base, downstream from the main talus sill (A) and one or more path sills (C and D) are placed inside the curved bed on the alignment of the straight line river bed. The sills are orientated depending on the axis (II - II) which defines an angle alpha to the longitudinal axis (I-I) of the straight river bed and operate in submerged manner at the high flood basis where the water strikes the vertical upstream face of the sills, changes direction, formes countercurrents orientated along the axis (II-II) which disrupt the alluvial discharge deposited in the rectilinear bed thereby correcting and straightening the watercourse.
