<p>The applicator consists of at least one flexible holder (8) with a cavity (9) which holds the product to be applied so that it has at least one exposed surface (5). The holder is able to move selectively between two positions - a rest position in which the product is located on or below the level of the surface of the holder, and an application position when the holder is compressed and the product is exposed. The applicable product can be moulded or compacted in the holder, or it can be fitted into it by means of a cup. It can also be contained in a pad of an open-cell foam material, e.g. of PVC, polyurethane, polyester, a synthetic butadiene rubber, NBR, silicone or nitrile rubber. In variants of the design the holder and product can have two opposite application surfaces, e.g. for different colours, or a set of holders can be made with a single interchangeable handle.</p> |
