The tile element has a wear layer (2) and a foil, formed fabric or textile auxiliary layer (3). The wear layer and auxiliary layers are interconnected, and especially by adhesive. The auxiliary layer on at least one side of the tile element has a projecting end with regard to the edge of the wear layer. A projecting end is provided on at least half of all side edges of the wear layer. The auxiliary layer is constructed in the form of a watertight sealing layer, and the wear layer is elastically deformable.
