Residual fibrous matter derived from fruit press-cakes, pref. from pomaceous press-cakes may be utilised via known means in canning-industry prod. As jams, fruit-juices and in food supplement tablets. Fibrous cakes obtd. following pressing, are dessicated to contain 4-10% moisture and comminuted by grinding on standard mills, or when micromic sizes are reqd. on high air pressure driven micronising mill. A combination of various mills may be used. Small particle sizes (20-300 microns) are suitable additives for a variety of fruits, vegetables etc. |
