The awning tent for fitting to the front of a caravan or mobile home comprises a roof part (12) and at least one side part (20) releasably connected to each other by a profile rail (30). The profile rail is connected on each long side to the roof and side parts by a hollow seam for accommodation of a core. The rail has a groove for insertable accommodation of the hollow seam with the core. The roof part has formed as an awning with a fabric sheet and at least one link arm (13). On the roof part devices are provided for stiffening the tent.
