The device is made of FeSi magnet yoke alloy with an annular coil opening and separating lines in surfaces though or parallel to the coil axis at which the bounding yoke parts are welded together. The bounding yoke parts (1,2) are joined by welding material provided in the welding regions in the form of a shaped part (5) in the joint gaps (4). Independent claims are also included for a method of manufacturing a yoke.
