The body panel (10) has outer and inner duroplastic or thermoplastic formed parts (12,14), which are glued to each other. The inner formed part has fasteners for connection of the body panel to the vehicle chassis. It also has internal stiffener elements, e.g. ribs, to improve resistance of the panel against mechanical loads. At least one, partially peripheral adhesive seam (16) is located in a non-visible area between the parts. The outer part is coated with a splinter protection foil. The body panel is a wing, a boot lid, engine bonnet, or bumper.
