The method involves generating a digital signature for a terminal data item specifying the terminal using a secret key or storing such a signature in the terminal and sending the signature and terminal data item to a partner terminal, which checks it with no knowledge of the secret key and processes the digital useful data from the terminal only if the signature is valid. Independent claims are also included for the following: a method of output by terminal, a chip card, a terminal and a program for implementing the method of securing data transmissions.
