The IR sensor arrangement has an IR sensor (1) providing a signal representing the temperature within the automobile passenger compartment (15), via a sensor surface which receives heat radiation from a surface (28) thermically coupled with the passenger compartment and heat radiation from an object (30) located within the passenger compartment, e.g. heat radiation from a passenger received via an opening in the latter surface. An Independent claim for an operating device for an automobile climate control and ventilation device is also included.
