A polypropylene resin composition reinforced with long fibers comprises (wt.%): polymer matrix (35-75), glass fibers of length 2-50 mm (25-65). A polypropylene resin composition reinforced with long fibers comprising (wt.%): polymer matrix (35-75), glass fibers of length 2-50 mm (25-65). Where the matrix polymer is: (i) modified propylene homopolymer prepared by modification of a propylene homopolymer with an isotactic pentad fraction (P) of at least 96 % and a maximum Mw/Mn ratio of 6 or (ii) a modified propylene/ethylene copolymer composed of homopolymer segments with an isotactic pentad fraction of at least 96 %, a maximum Mw/Mn ratio of 6 and propylene/ethylene copolymer segments, with an unsaturated carboxylic acid or its anhydride or (iii) a mixture of modified propylene homopolymer or propylene/ethylene copolymer and unmodified propylene homopolymer or crystalline propylene/ethylene copolymer, and a melt flow rate (at 230 deg C,21.18 N) of at least 50 g/minute. Independent claims are included for: (1) preparation of the above long fiber reinforced composition by mixing the polypropylene resin composition with a propylene homopolymer and/or a block copolymer based on propylene; and (2) a molded article obtained from the composition.
