<p>The drive employs a number of electric motors (M1-Mp) which are connected to a reducer/adder (5) through individual reducers (3). The individual reducers are irreversible under motor fault conditions to ensure the drive is not diverted through the faulty motor. The reducer/adder uses internal differentials to add the motor speeds and rotates the steering pod (1) through a final reducing pinion and crown (9,10).</p> |
