The building comprises an inner structure (12) enclosed by an outer structure which at least partially is in shell form. The inner structure consists of wall and ceiling elements which are constructed as flat or simply curved flat elements, and the outer structure is constructed as an egg-shaped, spherical plane load bearing structure which has a support structure with a cover encasing it. The support structure includes meridian supports (26) running into an apex (28).
