The stairs has several interconnected steps (1) each of which consists of a tread plate and a horizontal support component (3) with a vertical spacing component (9). Each tread plate has connecting holes (16) in the front side section as well as in the rear side section for the inserting of connecting elements (17). Support elements (12,13) in the form of internally threaded sleeves are welded onto each end of the spacing component. Each tread plate has a recess (4) on the underside to accommodate the horizontal support component.
