<p>A vehicle door latch device comprises a pawl lever 29 keeping engagement between a latch 54 and a striker 58, an output member 38 rotatable in an unlocking direction and in a locking direction by power of a motor 36 and being restored to a neutral position by elasticity of a returning spring 41 when the motor 36 is turned off, a lock lever 21 displaceable between an unlocked position and a locked position by directly receiving rotational movement of the output member 38, an open link 23 switched between an operative position and non-operative position by displacement of the lock lever 21. The open link 23 is directly connected to the lock lever 21 by way of no movable member. A latch shaft (56, Fig 6) and pawl shaft (57, Fig 6) may be laid between a main plate (52, Fig 5) and a mounting plate (69, Fig 5) and rotatably support the latch 54 and pawl lever 29.</p> |
