The base consists of parallel rows of equally narrow strips (12) of sheet material with raised integral supporting areas (22) for the sheet between recesses (20). Dense narrow-tipped needles (24) set on the integrated supporting areas form supporting points at their tips and are of a material considerably more temperature-resistant than the rest of the support.
