The central course is covered on one or both sides by paper or board or other materials with felting fibres. The feeling fibres can form the outer layer of the fibre course or they account for a proportion of the fibres of the outer layers of the course. The fibres can be natural, man-made or industrial ones. The paper or board webs can feature decorative surfaces. The material is produced by placing the wet layers on top of each other, followed by slight pre-drying. Excess water is removed and the product is dried through heating.
