摘要 The singe burner assembly (10), to process fabric piecegoods, has a housing (G) to cover the fabric width, with a fuel feed chamber and a flame gap (8). The passage between the fuel feed chamber and the flame gap is covered by two parallel strips which slide along the housing over the whole fabric width. The strips have passage openings, for the fuel to pass through, where the flow width through them is determined by the positioning of the openings in one strip over those of the other strip to block the flow and give a controlled and restricted flow. The singe burner assembly, for fabric piecegoods, closes the passage openings through the strips by sliding them against each other initially at the ends of the flame gap. The working width is reduced by sliding the strips against each other symmetrically to the center. The passage openings in one strip are equidistant along the strip length, all of the same width. The passage openings in the other strip are in the same distribution as the first strip, in a mirror image array on a vertical longitudinal center plane to the fabric, but in different widths. The passage openings have the shape of a parallelogram, at the same angle to the longitudinal strip axes of 20-60 deg . The passage openings are relatively narrow, with a width:length ratio of 1:5 to 1:15. The passage openings are in a distribution along the length of the strips, so that the end of a passage opening towards one longitudinal edge of the strip is at the same level along the strip as the other end of the neighboring opening towards the other longitudinal edge of the strip. The distribution (T) of the passage openings along the strips is according to the formula: T=Y/*So where T is the gap between the center points of adjacent passage openings, Y a number of 1-100 and preferably 10, and So the passage opening width. The passage opening width of the other strip is according to the formula: Sn=So?+n//T, where n is the number of passage openings increasing from outwards to the inner zone and starting with 0. One strip is moved in a sliding action, while the other strip remains fixed in place in the housing. A system compensates for strip thermal expansion.
