The connecting system for an exhaust pipe (2) and a second pipe (6) comprises a collar (3) on the exhaust pipe with a trapezium-shaped cross-section. The other pipe has a flange (7) which fits against this. A V-shaped locking ring (8) fits over the two. A sealing ring (9) is fitted between the collar and the flange which has a bead (10) around it.
