The present invention provides: a material used for immobilization of biologically active substance, which comprises a material and a carbodiimide group-containing polymer compound supported thereon, and a method for immobilization of biologically active substance, which comprises contacting a biologically active substance reactive with carbodiimide group, with a material used for immobilization of said substance, comprising a material and a carbodiimide group-containing polymer compound supported thereon. Said material is free from the problems of the prior art, can immobilize an active substance easily, and is easy to handle.
