The side part has flexible padding on a support, with internal adjusting device to move it relative to a neighboring seat. The support is formed by a long bracket (10), which is tensioned into position (42) for max. or min. distance relative to a neighboring seat, and is moved by a first traction unit (40) against the tension. Alternatively, the bracket is tensioned into a second position (52), from which it is moved by a second traction unit (50) through a max./min. distance relative to the front of the seat.
