The aid is mounted on the front of esp. a COE truck. A foot platform (4), which can be moved from a vertical into a horizontal position, has a pivoted bracket mechanism (8) fastened to its underside. The bracket can be moved from a storage position into an operating position, in which its outer end section (10) is positioned at a distance below the horizontal platform and slightly outside its side (6). The mechanism has a bracket frame (12), which is locked when in operating position, and has fastening ends. The ends are born moveable in fastener elements (22,24), which are fixed to profiled parts on the platform.
