In a numerical control system for machine tool, a move command derived from a processing program or processing data for a numerical control unit (100) is supplied directly to a servocontrol section (103) in a numerical control unit (100) from an external source. Outside the numerical control unit (100), there are provided analysis means (111) for the processing program or processing data and interpolation means (112) that interpolates the position control period of the servocontrol section for the individual axes on the basis of output information and cutting conditions supplied by the analysis means (111). A move command in binary form prepared by the interpolation means (112) is supplied directly to the servocontrol section (103) of the numerical control unit (100) to control a machine tool.
