PURPOSE: A CCTV(Closed Circuit Television) system is provided to set available ID information bits, which are generated by the combination of a bit number forming the ID information, to be more than twice the number of cameras, so as to prevent a channel mixing phenomenon generated upon playing video. CONSTITUTION: In a CCTV system, a plurality of cameras are arranged. A multiplexer assigns ID information to video signals inputted in parallel from the cameras connected with a plurality of channels, for serial multiplexing. The ID information is displayed in digital to represent from which camera the video signals are inputted. The ID information delivered from the multiplexer and the video signals are stored in a video signal storage unit by the control of a controller. A bit number forming available ID information bits is set to be more than twice the number of cameras. In case of 4 channels, the ID information is set to 4 bits, and in case of 8 channels, the ID information is set to 6 bits. ID bits are assigned to identify each camera, and supplementary bits reverses the ID bits. And the ID information is configured by the combination of the ID bits and the supplementary bits.
