PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to easily, timely and efficiently acquire the latest information of a Web page that the user wants to read. SOLUTION: The user transmits an update situation notification request about the Web page the user wants to read to a distribution server DSV from a user terminal UT and registers the update situation notification request. The distribution server DSV periodically accesses Web servers PSV and WSV where Web pages with the update situation notification request registered therein are established in a repeating cycle designated by the user to decide the existence/absence of update, and notifies the user being the request source of these decision results by transmitting the decision results to the terminal UT designated as a notification destination by e-mail.
