PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system capable of very speedily finding out correlative connection rules. SOLUTION: This system 10 for extracting the connection rule having high correlation from connection rules formed among item sets corresponding to transactions, is provided with an item set storing part 14 for storing an item set I, and an item set scanning part 16 for extracting the item set I from the items set storing part 14, and for calculating f(x(I), y(I)) and f(x(I)-y(I), 0) concerning the item set I by scanning the item set I, and a statistical pruning part 18 for comparing the upper limit of function values with a prescribed threshold and removing a superset J of the item set I from the target of the extraction of the connection rules when the upper limit is smaller than the prescribed comparison value. Thus, the item sets to be calculated can be reduced by trimming the item set by the pruning processing means.
