PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To store the set image pickup parameter in a digital still camera. SOLUTION: The image pickup conditions such as picture quality, resolution, and the like are selected in an image pickup condition display region 110. For each selected image pickup condition, the image pickup parameters such as fine picture quality, normal picture quality, economy picture quality, or the like is set in an image pickup parameter display region 111. The set image pickup parameter is stored in the digital still camera. To set the dame image pickup parameter as previously set image pickup parameter on the camera later, the stored image pickup parameter is read. The image pickup parameter is not required to be set from the beginning.
