PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress standby power consumption by performing intermittent switching operation when a switching power circuit is lightly loaded, etc., and is in a standby state, and performing continuous switching operation when the power circuit is loaded and is in a usual state. SOLUTION: This switching power circuit is fitted with an intermittent circuit 6 which outputs to a control circuit 4 a signal for changing the switching operation of a switching circuit 3 over to continuous or intermittent operation, and a current detecting circuit 8 which detects an output current value outputted from a secondary-side rectifying smoothing circuit 5 and outputs it to the intermittent circuit.
