PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide data communication equipment which can remotely register, set, or change the information on a dialing mode or the information on the connection of a set value storing memory through radio communication from an external terminal. SOLUTION: When this data communication equipment makes dial- transmission in response to a dial-call from the external terminal through a modem section 113 or external terminal adaptor 207, a control section 103 makes the transmission in the dialing mode set in the set value storing memory 105. When the equipment registers or changes the information on the connection of the memory 105 or a set value in the dialing mode, the equipment transmits the information on the connection of the memory 105 or a specific command for updating the dialing mode from the external terminal. When the radio control section 103 recognizes the information or specific command, the equipment updates the contents stored in the memory 105 to the designated information or dialing mode.
