PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of evaluating performance precisely and objectively regardless of the presence/absence of the dispersion of samples in an evaluation method for evaluating an analysis method which is to be newly introduced in comparison with a conventional method, in particular a new analysis method which has to be introduced to a test in which the dispersion of the samples exerts influence on the evaluation of its performance, such as the in vitro micronucleus test. SOLUTION: The method for evaluating the precision of a comparing method is provided with a process for obtaining a first data by a reference method and obtaining a second data by the comparing method, a process for calculating an average by each condition concerning respective data, an arithmetic process for obtaining the confidence interval of the ratio in a population concerning the respective averages of the first data, a comparing process for comparing the upper limit and the lower limit of the obtained confidence interval with the value of the second data by the respective conditions and a process for evaluating the precision of the comparing method by judging whether the respective values of the second data are included in the confidence interval.
