SCSI PERIPHERAL EQUIPMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide SCSI peripheral equipment to be connected to either of a wide SCSI or a narrow SCSI without requiring a special converting means. SOLUTION: A wide SCSI connector 42 and a narrow SCSI connector 43 are arranged in the interface 40 of a scanner so as to attain connection without requiring the special converting means when a personal computer being a host corresponds to either one of the wide SCSI or the narrow SCSI. A data bus is forcedly set to eight bits by a change switch 44 in an SCSI controller 41. Then the data bus does not become 16 bits even when the personal computer corresponds to the wide SCSI and also even when peripheral equipment only corresponding to the narrow SCSI is comprised in a daisy chain. Thus correspondence is performed to any connecting condition.
