PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrochemical device wherein elevation of abnormal pressure of a sheath bag and short circuit phenomenon accompanying the elevation are prevented and the safety is improved in the electrochemical device using a flexible film as a sheath bag. SOLUTION: This is the electrochemical device 1 having the flexible sheath bag and an electrochemical element body 2 enclosed in this sheath bag 3, and the electrochemical device is constituted so that the sheath bag 3 has a pressure relief mechanism actuated at a pressure lower than the inner pressure to give a stress to yield a short circuit wherein the electrochemical element body is deformed due to expansion of inner space as for the sheath bag 3. |
