PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic actuator which can enhance responsiveness by delaying the time period of decelerating a needle. SOLUTION: This electromagnetic actuator is equipped with a movable body 2, a stator 3, and elastic members 4 and 5. The movable body 2 has a needle 20 and a working member 22. The stator 3 has a first solenoid 31, which shifts the needle 20 to the positive side from the neutral position, and a second solenoid 32 which shifts it, likewise to the negative side. The elastic members 4 and 5 are provided compressible, making use of the elastic transformation at shifting of the needle, to the needle 2 and the stator 3. The elastic members 4 and 5 are arranged with a prescribed clearance in the neutral position of the needle 3 to the needle 2 and the stator 3.
