<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate track narrowing at an IN point at the time of consecutive recording by using a head wider than the track width to perform a one-edge coincidence tracking between the head and the track. SOLUTION: During preroll reproducing for consecutive recording, an ATF control means 15 performs such control in accordance with pilot signals in reproduced outputs of heads 1a and 1c that centers of heads may scan the center line of a track, and the phase of a positioning signal 6g and an HSW at this time is detected by a detection circuit 16, and a phase target value leading this phase by a prescribed extent is set by a phase target value setting means 18 and is stored in a storage part 19. Thereafter, a tracking system switching control part 23 switches the tracking system to a system where a control part 20 performs such control that the phase difference of the positioning signal 6g and the HSW may coincide with the target value in the storage part 19.</p> |
