PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize both slidability and preservable property of the liners disposed on the upper and lower parts of a magnetic disk medium and the reliability when fallen down. SOLUTION: Welded area of the upper liner 5 to the upper shell 1 is made smaller than the welded area of the lower liner 6 to the lower shell 2, the value of torque of the magnetic disk medium 4 is made to be 0.4-0.8 mN.m, the reliability is improved when dropped by enhancing the dust removability of the S1 surface and, at the same time, the slidability and preservable property of the liner as a whole is ensured on the S0 surface side.
