PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a PWM generator which can alleviate a load corresponding to the processing capability of an arithmetic circuit for covering the wide application field. SOLUTION: A carrier generation circuit 42 is operated for the counting with a count clock 49. Data is sequentially written into a triangular wave comparison value register 43 and a waveform pattern register 45, whenever the PWM comparison data of each phase and space vector arithmetic operation are processed with an arithmetic operation circuit 41. First, a counter value 42a as an output of the carrier generation circuit 42 is compared with the data written in the triangular wave comparison value register 43 with a comparison circuit 44. A comparison result is always converted to an address with an address encoder 46. One waveform pattern register is always selected with an address encoder output from a PWM pulse pattern table 47, and each bit of register is outputted as the PWM outputs 47a, 47b, 47c, 47d, 47e and 47f. |
