PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control method that controls a digital device of a destination even when digital interface connection between digital devices connected via a network is disconnected. SOLUTION: A digital device 1 acquires device information of a digital device 2 to be connected when the digital device 1 is connected to the digital device 2 through digital interfaces. When digital interfaces are disconnected, the digital device 1 retrieves and acquires data for infrared ray communication stored in a memory on the basis of the device information and activates infrared ray modules 14, 23 on the basis of the data so as to remotely control the digital device 2 to be connected.
