PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a planar antenna array that compensates unbalanced amplitudes and phases in a supply circuit network. SOLUTION: The planar antenna array 10 for a linearly polarized wave compensates unbalanced amplitudes and phases caused by coupling between adjacent lines in the supply circuit network 18 to improve the radiation pattern from the antenna. The unbalance causes a remarkable distortion in the radiation pattern. The antenna adopts slots 52, 54, 56, 58 that are shifted for specific components on the array and the slots 52, 54, 56, 58 are adhered to an aperture/ waveguide layer 24. Through the configuration above, the antenna can be obtained where excellent gain, excellent balancing over a wide frequency band, excellent identification of a cross polarized wave and entirely enhanced radiation pattern can be attained. |
