PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high capacity alkaline dry cell having a good anti- leakage property in spite that a can thickness of a trunk part of a sheath can is made thinner wherein reliability of a safety valve installed at a sealed body in order to seal an opening end part of the sheath can is enhanced. SOLUTION: The thickness of a trunk part A of the sheath can 1 is made thinner than 0.18 mm, and the thickness of a seal part A of the sheath can 1 is made 1.4 times thicker than that of a trunk part B. A negative electrode plate 7 is used as a support means of a seal body 6. A bending part with not more than 1 mm radius of an average curvature which is nearly C-shaped or arcuate in a cross section when the negative electrode plate 7 is cut in a thickness direction through a center of it is installed at the whole circumference in an outer peripheral part of the negative electrode plate 7. The strength of the seal part is secured by making a structure supporting the sealed body 6 from an inner periphery in the bending part, and further both security of the good anti-leakage property and increase of a battery inner volume are aimed at. |
